Onside Coaching's experience of teaching sport to primary aged children is available to support and supplement your school’s curriculum during the teaching day.
We know from our current involvement with schools that there is an ever-increasing pressure to deliver more sport and physical activity. This runs alongside the Planning, Preparation and Assessing initiative.
Onside Coaching can offer schools the extra capacity needed to manage their 10% non-contact time with minimum disruption.
Our services are available in hourly slots, delivering expert sports coaching to whole class groups with a ratio of one coach to every 15 children.
The hourly sessions are flexible depending on the needs of the school and we are able to tailor our services to suit your individual requirements.
Sessions can be divided to teach more than one class within the hour.
Each lesson is based around National Curriculum learning objectives, lesson plans are provided for your school to support each session.
Each child will be assessed on a weekly basis, resulting in individual record for teachers to monitor each child’s progress.
Onside Coaching are fully aware of the financial constraints placed on schools and understand that funds are limited for the type of facility we offer. Our price plan reflects our aim to work in partnership with all sizes of school whatever the size of their budget.
Our After School Clubs are available in three main areas, however, we do offer clubs in specific sports if you require. All clubs are can be delivered to Reception and Key Stage 1 and 2.
Offers children a unique introduction to a wide range of sports.
A focus on fun and increased participation.
Children will have the opportunity to sample many different sports and games such as: Mini-Hockey, Handball, Basketball, Tag Games, Dodgeball, Tee-ball, Kwick Cricket, Softball, and the Mini Olympics (introduction into athletics).
The mixture of these sports and games along with other team building activities introduces children to invasion, striking and net games.
This combination not only allows the learning of specific skills, but improves hand-eye coordination, balance, physical well being and is also an extremely important contributor to children’s social development.
Taught by FA Level Two and Three Coaches this a fun approach to all aspects of junior soccer, incorporating all up to the minute techniques and fundamental skills.
The football scheme allows children to participate in an invasion game that will improve awareness, develop their ability to play to rules and learn to work and be part of a team.
Dance – using music from popular films, musicals and pop artists; children and learn especially choreographed routines. This provides a great mix of learning and fun; children will not only build confidence in their body awareness but also improve self-confidence, through the development of their performance skills. Alongside this the group will work together to design and make props and costumes to use in the routines.
The Final day of each course allows the children to perform their work in a small dance show; this provides the opportunity to showcase their hard work to parents, teachers and each other alike.
To allow your school to experience the benefits of any of our After School Clubs we would be happy to offer a free taster session.
